When dry, an Asian hair wig is generally just fine; but when wet, it can become tangled: you must be careful when washing it. Do not wash it as you would your regular hair. Your wig, especially if it is a front lace or full lace wig is delicate. To wash it properly, brush out all knots. Place it on a wig block/holder, leaning over a sink. Run water through the wig until it is soaked. Take just a small amount of mild wig shampoo and stroke it gently into the hair – do not gather the hair and rub it in! Now take a brush and brush the shampoo through the hair, using long strokes. Take water and rinse the shampoo out – let the water do the work, do not use your hands. Now let the wig drip dry a bit before adding the rinse/conditioner. Rinse it out (follow the directions, some rinses should be left in). Brush out any knots gently. Blot the water out of the hair. Again, you should not rub it! Leave the wig on a stand to dry by itself, without the use of a hair dryer. So, one of the main things to remember when washing wigs of human hair is that you should not rub them, and you should always treat them gently. |
