There are two main types of wigs: wigs from human hair and synthetic wigs. There are many ways in which wigs from human hair are different from synthetic wigs. For example:

• Human hair wigs are generally more expensive than synthetic wigs.
• The hair used to make wigs from human hair is usually treated chemically for longevity.
• Wigs from human hair can be styled like regular human hair. Heat tools are heat styling are completely appropriate; however wigs made from synthetic hair will be permanently damaged if you use a curling iron, flat iron, hair dryer or other heat tool on them.
• The hair on human hair wigs is often overly plentiful when you receive your wig. Most wigs from human hair will need a trim or shaping done by an experienced stylist so that the wig’s style and volume suits you.

Human hair wigs have many advantages over wigs made from synthetic hair. The biggest advantage is that wigs from human hair are made from real, authentic human hair.
