For some kids, losing their hair from chemotherapy can be one of the most traumatic things about having cancer. To help kids cope and prosper, Locks of Love, a non-profit group, provides wigs for kids.

In order to distribute wigs for kids, Locks of Love has a process which it follows. Some of the steps in the process are included here.

• A child is nominated – If you know someone who could use wigs for kids, you can nominate them to receive a wig made of natural human hair from Locks of Love.
• Hair is donated – Upon finding out about Locks of Love, many people decide to grow and donate their hair to make wigs for kids. In order to donate, you must be able to cut at least 10 inches.
• A wig is made – After hair for wigs for kids are donated, a wig maker prepares the hair and makes a wig out of it.

While the process is simple, the result is profound. Many people have received wigs for kids thanks to this donation process. It has resulted in happier kids with better outlooks on the future
