If you have long wigs and shorter wigs, it can be a hassle to remember what to do with which kind. Although there are slight variances in how you clean long and short wigs, thankfully cleaning either follows pretty much the same steps.

So, then, how do you clean your long wigs? Just follow these steps.

• After removing the wig, be sure to thoroughly brush it.
• Add wig shampoo to a water basin and soak your long wigs for five minutes.
• Gently swish the wig in the basin. Do not rub it.
• Rinse your long wigs in cold water at least twice. Longer wigs will take longer to thoroughly rinse.
• Apply a decent-sized amount of a wig conditioner into your long wigs and gently work it in with your finger tips.
• Again, rinse thoroughly with cold water.
• Drain your long wigs and blot with a towel. Do not squeeze or wring.
• Allow it to air dry. Do not use a hairdryer.
• Brush again your long wigs only after they are completely dry.

Following these steps will help you keep your long wigs looking nice for a longer period of time. It is important that you take special care with longer wigs because there is more opportunity for error.

For example, if you have a short wig, the time spent on cleaning is not as long, therefore you are less likely to make a critical mistake.

On the other hand, because it can take such a long time to clean long wigs, there is more opportunity for you to lose your focus and do something wrong.
