• Productions such as movies, TV shows and theater productions use wigs as part of costuming. Actors do not usually change their own hair drastically to play a character. Instead, a wig is used if the character’s hair varies greatly from the actor’s own hair.
• Thinning or less than satisfactory hair. Many people who’ve endure far too many bad hair days turn to wigs as a solution for their less than satisfactory hair.
